Presidential Prospectus Created

April 14, 2026

Dear Emory Community,

I am writing to share an update on the Presidential Selection Committee’s progress in the search for Emory’s 22nd president.

Over the past month, the committee has conducted more than 40 listening sessions across our community and reviewed hundreds of thoughtful comments from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders; survey responses on the presidential search website; and messages sent to the search email address. Drawing on this extensive feedback, the committee developed a presidential prospectus that outlines the opportunities and expectations for Emory’s next leader. The Board of Trustees approved the prospectus last week, and it is now available on the presidential search website.

Your insights highlighted both Emory’s strengths as well as the areas where we have meaningful opportunities to grow as we work together to fulfill our mission. We are deeply grateful for, though not at all surprised by, your dedicated and enthusiastic participation.

Because of your input, the Presidential Selection Committee is well prepared to move forward with greater clarity about the qualities, experiences, and leadership attributes our community seeks in the university’s next president.

Thank you for your continued commitment to and support of Emory. The survey and email address remain open for continued feedback on the presidential search website, and all comments are shared directly with the committee.

Sincerely,

Robert C. Goddard III

Chair, Emory University Board of Trustees
