As the chief academic officer of Emory University, the provost and executive vice president of academic affairs is a highly visible leader of the institution whose responsibility is to advance the university’s academic mission and deepen its rich intellectual life. The Dean is the chief academic, administrative, and fiscal officer of the Emory College of Arts and Sciences. As its leader, this individual will work collaboratively with a range of critical constituencies including faculty, students, staff, alumni, and other supporters to further advance the College to even higher levels of excellence in pursuit of its mission. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will represent the Emory College of Arts and Sciences interest within the Council of Deans and the President’s Academic Leadership Group, as well as collaborate effectively with deans of the other undergraduate schools and the professional schools and other senior administrators across the University.
